I've always believed that the greatest achievement each of us can strive for in life is to have the ability to shape our world to match our dreams.
Whatever that dream might be.... whether its unlimited time with your whanau, the chance to work full-time for your iwi or favourite charity, to design your own home, to live anywhere you choose in the world or to make the world a better place.
My approach to life is based on a core belief that we all have the potential to lead and anyone can accomplish anything. No matter what age you are, what qualifications you have or don't have, whether you are in a relationship or single, have children or not, can korero Maori or not, know your whakapapa or not, and the list goes on. What matters most is having the courage to say "Yes!". This is the ultimate expression of freedom that each of us can experience.
Kia ora, my name is Awhimai Reynolds and I'm grateful that our paths have crossed. My mission and my purpose is to inspire wahine to do work that inspires them because when they do, they change their lives, and the world, for the better.
In 2015, I established iWahine NZ as a response to the invisibility of wahine Maori voices, faces and stories throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. I use social media, primarily Facebook, as the main platform to promote mana wahine and connect with wahine toa.
My research on Maori Women CEOs highlighted a number of disadvantages experienced by wahine from "others". And my time as the General Manager of the Maori Women's Welfare League revealed a number of other issues from "within".
I choose to do work that matters, that is meaningful and makes a difference.
If you are a wahine business owner, entrepreneur, professional woman, community worker, mother or a wahine with dreams, I believe I have some insights and experiences that can help you make an incredible impact on, not only your life but, the lives of others.
I am a nanny of one and mother of two, connoisseur of coffee, wine and kaimoana, sports fan, movie and RnB music lover, art appreciator and entrepreneur. I'm passionate about online / digital marketing; everyone should have an online presence. I spend my time mentoring, coaching, teaching and providing advice on leadership, business and life. I love personal development and helping people tap into their inner greatness. As an Oprah fan I love her 10 rules of success. Check out the video below.
